Beginning January 1, 2026, nonprofits and public institutions recognized under Section 46 must report the donations received through the Tax Authority’s Trumot Yisrael (תרומות ישראל; “Israel Donations”) system. This reporting allows donors to receive the tax credit more simply and quickly, without needing to keep paper receipts. In this guide, we will explain how to check that the donation was reported, where to see the donations in the personal area on the Tax Authority website, and how to make sure you receive the tax benefit due to you directly in your payslip.
What should you prepare in advance?
- Credit-card details.
- ID cards and a passport (if you have one), for identification only.
To enter the digital service of the Tax Authority.
The process consists of 2 simple parts: registering as a customer for the Tax Authority’s digital services (one time), and exercising your rights.
Part A: registering as a customer for the Tax Authority’s digital services
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: enter the Tax Authority’s digital service

Step 2: register in the system
- If this is your first time, complete a short registration for the Tax Authority’s digital-services system.
Step 3: customer verification
The system asks you to complete verification and offers several options.
Step 3A: customer verification—initial identification using credit-card details.

In the present example, identification is completed using the ID card’s issue date and the passport’s validity details.
Step 4: contact details
Step 5: choose a user code
The system lets you choose a permanent user code to shorten the time it takes you to log in next time.
Step 6: approve the terms of use
Step 7: the registration process is complete
Part B: exercising your rights
Step 1: enter the system
Click the personal area.
Enter your ID number and the permanent user code you created in Part A.

Beginning in January 2026, all nonprofits are required to report fully to the Tax Authority.

More details about tax refunds for donations can be found on the Ministry of Finance website.
An important final point:
- Make sure the nonprofit reported: Beginning in 2026, paper receipts are not enough. The tax refund is conditional on the nonprofit having reported your donation in the Trumot Yisrael system. Without the report, the donation will not appear in your personal area and you will not be able to receive the credit.
- Save time and bureaucracy: To avoid assigning the donations on the Tax Authority website again and again, it is recommended to consolidate all your donations and complete the process once or twice a year (for example, toward the end of the tax year). The tax benefit will be updated and paid to you directly through your payslip.
