Fees reduce the savings balance and the amount removed no longer earns future returns. Over many years, the effect can therefore be much larger than the fees paid directly.
In simple terms: you lose both the fee and the return that money could have earned.
The calculator compares only the effect of management fees and does not include other costs that may apply.
Enter the amount already accumulated in the savings product. You can usually find it in the provider's personal area or periodic statement.
Enter the total amount deposited into the product each month. For a pension fund, for example, use all deposits into the product—not only the employee deduction.
Choose how many years to compare the two options. The longer the saving period, the more fees on the accumulated balance may affect the final amount.
Enter an estimated average annual return before management fees. The calculator uses the same return assumption for both options to isolate the effect of fees. This is a simulation assumption, not a forecast of future returns.
Enter the management fees you currently pay. You can usually find them in your periodic statement or the provider's personal area.
If you received an offer with different fees, enter it here to see how the difference may affect savings over time. For a study fund, only fees on the accumulated balance are shown.
Management fees are the payment you make to the entity that manages your savings or investment. In pension savings, they are charged according to the type of product and are part of the cost of managing the money.
Management fees on contributions are charged on new money deposited into the product. Management fees on accumulated savings are charged on the amount already accumulated in the savings. For example, if 1,000 ILS is deposited and the management fee on the contribution is 1%, 10 ILS will be charged from the contribution. Management fees on accumulated savings, by contrast, are calculated as a percentage of the savings accumulated.
Because management fees on accumulated savings are charged over many years, and the money charged is no longer in the savings and therefore does not continue to earn returns. Therefore, a difference that appears small in percentage terms can become a significant gap in the final amount.
It depends on the accumulated amount, the amount of contributions, and the time remaining for the savings. When the accumulated amount is already high, even a small percentage of it can be very significant. The calculator is designed precisely so that you do not have to rely on a rule of thumb—enter both offers and see the impact in numbers.
The management fees charged to you should appear in the periodic reports and in the personal area of the company that manages the product. You can also compare offers using the official management fee calculator of the Capital Market Authority.
Not necessarily. Management fees are an important consideration, but they are not the only consideration. You should also examine the type of product, investment track, risk level, service, and additional terms.
Because money charged as management fees cannot continue to earn returns. Therefore, the final difference includes both the additional management fees paid and the returns that this money could have earned had it remained in the savings.
No. The return is an assumption for simulation purposes only. In practice, the return may be higher or lower and may change from year to year.
No. The calculator focuses on the management fees entered. In some products, there may also be direct expenses and additional costs that are not included in the calculation.
